Giving Tuesday: Hope Rises with Every Donation

December 3rd, 2024 is Giving Tuesday! Giving Tuesday is a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

For the fourth year, Birzeit Society is participating in Giving Tuesday as our current fundraising efforts include assisting families in Birzeit with medical or financial needs, the 2024/2025 scholarship program, helping Birzeit institutions, and continuing to raise funds for humanitarian aid in Gaza and Birzeit, and much more. 

As many Birzietis worldwide continue to undergo hardship, we will continue our efforts to assist our community and organizations in Birzeit and we can not do it without help from our community! Please consider donating today by clicking on the donate button below. 

Birzeit Society 2024 Donation Summary

• $24,000 to charities providing aid in Gaza – this includes funds to Birzeit University to support their Gaza Virtual Learning initiative which provides online classes to college students in Gaza.

• $18,750 to fund university scholarships for 25 students who each received a $750 scholarship. The amount for each scholarship was temporarily increased this year due to financial hardships.

• $3,000 to support institutions in Birzeit, including the Senior Center. 

• $6,500 was donated to fund food packages that will be distributed to 80 families this holiday season, in conjunction with the Birzeit Women Charitable Society and the Birzeit Advisory Committee.

•  $4,000 to assist Birzeiti families with medical needs.

• $3,400 to provide assistance to 34 needy families in Birzeit in the Spring of 2024.

• $3,000 for memorial/funeral support.

•  $600 towards the cost of uniforms for the Birzeit Stars Academy, a Birzeiti youth soccer team.
