This year has been full of uncertainty and challenges, but with the support of our generous members, we were able to help many families in need and donate to various causes!
This year Birzeit Society has fundraised and distributed nearly $60,000 and participated in helping over 400 families in Birzeit, awarded scholarships, donated to the Medical Mission, and provided legal funding to oppose the building of the asphalt plant in Birzeit.
As many Birzeitis continue to undergo hardship, we will continue our efforts to assist our community and organizations in Birzeit and we need your help!
Birzeit Society Fundraiser Projects
Scholarships Each year, Birzeit Society awards 20 scholarships to collegiate level students from Birzeit. For the 2021/2022 school year, our goal is to increase the number of scholarships awarded. Funds raised will help more students with their educational careers. | Needy Families This year Birzeit Society has assisted in helping over 400 families with food packages, medical needs, and emergency funds. To continue these efforts, funds donated go directly to Birzeiti families and individuals who are in need. | COVID-19 Relief Efforts With the second wave of the coronavirus, the economic impact on the community in Birzeit can cause many hardships that affect household incomes. Your donations will help with providing medical and food assistance and distributing personal protective equipment. |

Birzeit Organizations
Latin Patriarch School (Deir el Latin) Due to economic hardship, many students are unable to pay their tuition in full this year. Additionally, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the students are required to use single-student desks. The school is seeking assistance in purchasing 300 single-student desks, 5 laptops, and 18 smartboards. | Birzeit Social Development and Cultural Center This center provides food, activities, and programs for the senior citizens of Birzeit. The center provides a space for the elderly in Birzeit who are the pillars of our community. Donations raised will go towards providing activities and purchasing food for the elderly. | Palestine Cinema Club Project The Palestine Cinema Club (PCC) is an independent, non-for-profit and non-governmental organization that aims to shine the spotlight on stories about the Palestinian people. The PCC plans on renovating two historic homes (Yousef Musa Nasir and Mahyoub Yousef Musallam) in the old city of Birzeit into a place where talented storytellers will be invited to indulge in their passion of film by providing them with resources and tools. |
